We are so thankful for H-Town Dream Center and everything they do for our community. Their sports field is a great place for kids to learn, compete, and grow in a safe and welcoming environment. More than just a field, it’s a place where young athletes build confidence, character, and friendships. We truly appreciate your heart for serving families and investing in the next generation. Thank you for opening your doors to organizations like Texas Catalyst FC and for making a positive impact on so many lives. God bless, and thank you for all you do!

Hello,my name is Heart Ellis, and I am writing this on someone else's account. I am 21 years old,and I recently stayed at this location, but it was not a pleasant experience. The program director goes by the name of Tonya Golden, and she is very unprofessional in how she handles things. She shouts at people, uses profanity, and often does nothing to help take care of issues. She has a lack of empathy and lets serious issues slide. On one occasion,I told her that a member of the staff had flashed a minor (a 16 year old girl was flashed by a woman,by pulling her shorts up so you could see part of the bottom of her butt) and when I brought it to her attention, she said that she didn't care. I told her that a teenage girl named Madison Mingo had pushed me,called me a "stupid b***h",and shoved my belongings around, and I asked her to check the cameras, she didn't check the cameras. She saw on the cameras that another girl named Madison Henley had threatened to slap me,and she showed me no empathy. One time I was very hungry and tried to eat something in the van on the way to an event, but I was told no, because there's no eating in the cans, even though I told her I didn't eat breakfast that morning or dinner the previous night because I was sick. She just told me to figure it out. She also kicked out a mother with 3 children over something that wasn't even her fault. She gave Madison Henley a cell phone to throw away, but Henley had secretly kept the phone and used it,which was against the rules. The woman didn't know of the this, and thought that she had just thrown he phone away. Apparently, that was "putting one of her teenagers at risk",so she was kicked out, even though she was struggling to find a place to go,and again, didn't know of that. Absolutely egregious. The kitchen where you must prepare your food is absolutely disgusting, also. It's full of flies and roaches. She tells people to clean it up,but they often don't. The place is also abusive to children. They make them run laps when they get in trouble, which isn't abusive by itself, but they tried to get them to run when the heat index outside was near 120 degrees farenheit, and on another occasion Sammy said that if the kids misbehave, they're "going to be throwing up from how much running we're going to be doing". And if you get kicked out,she drops you off at the Chevron instead of you going where you want.

A Disturbing Review of Htown Dream Center A friend of the reviewer has endured what they describe as a deeply troubling experience at Htown Dream Center. After spending a considerable amount of time there, this individual no longer sees the organization as a place of restoration, compassion, or Christian fellowship. Instead, the experience has felt like a prolonged nightmare hidden beneath religious language. The organization repeatedly declares that everything it does is “for Jesus.” However, such a declaration must be measured against conduct. Jesus Christ taught His followers to serve with humility, protect the vulnerable, speak truthfully, and treat every person with dignity. He did not teach His disciples to tear people down, control them through fear, or exploit their labor while leaders benefit from their suffering. According to this friend’s experience, residents and workers have often felt less like valued human beings and more like unpaid servants. They believe people are expected to work extensively while receiving little respect, freedom, or meaningful support in return. When a ministry claims to represent Christ, its leadership should understand that spiritual language cannot excuse humiliation, manipulation, or mistreatment. There are also serious concerns regarding financial transparency. Donations are presumably given to help people rebuild their lives, not to enrich private individuals or finance personal luxuries. Questions have therefore arisen about how donated money is being used, including concerns surrounding the construction of a new house. These concerns deserve clear, documented, and honest answers. The relationship involving Nelson Pools also raises questions. From the reviewer’s observations, the business frequently appears closed, very few workers are present, and multiple company trucks seem to remain on the property. This creates confusion about how the operation functions and whether the labor arrangements are fair and properly disclosed. These observations are not presented as legal conclusions, but they are legitimate concerns that responsible leadership should address openly. The most frightening part of this experience is the contradiction between the message being preached and the treatment people allegedly receive. A ministry may display the name of Jesus, quote Scripture, and speak about salvation, but Christ also warned that people would be recognized by the fruit of their actions. Religious appearances mean very little when compassion, honesty, accountability, and justice are absent. Htown Dream Center’s leadership should examine itself seriously. If people have been demeaned, exploited, silenced, or financially used, then the appropriate response is not denial or retaliation. The appropriate response is repentance, restitution, transparency, and meaningful reform. This review is written so that the public, donors, residents, and those who may be unaware of these concerns can ask informed questions. It is also a plea for the organization to change before more people are harmed. Claiming to work for Jesus is a serious responsibility. Those who invoke His name should demonstrate His character through truth, mercy, humility, and love. Repentance is not merely saying the right words. It requires acknowledging wrongdoing, correcting injustice, and producing better fruit.

Future residents, donors, and community members need to be aware of the operational reality at H-Town DREAM Center. While the program claims to offer a stable environment for women seeking transition, the actual management structure lacks basic respect and professionalism, organizational communication, and conflict resolution boundaries. The hostile environment was evident from day one. On my very first day, the program director was observed screaming and yelling at two individuals on the same day. One occasion involved a new resident who objected to the program director's aggressive attitude, which then escalated into a conversation spike and the new resident being kicked out. The second occasion involved an existing resident rightfully voicing a complaint, which resulted in management having a public outburst and reprimanding the resident publicly for tattletelling, rather than utilizing professional, private conflict resolution. There is a severe lack of respect for personal space and boundaries within the living quarters. Personal property is touched and re-arranged by other residents without consent. Rather than being forthcoming about crossing these lines, individuals will wait for you to discover the changes while staring at you the entire time as you enter the room, offering no upfront communication until directly confronted—only to dismissively state that your belongings 'were in the way.' When this boundary crossing was brought to management, the program director defended their behavior by stating, 'If she gently moved your stuff out of the way, then I don't see the problem,' and openly dismissed new residents by stating that she had known the other resident longer for 7 months and did not know the new resident yet. Rather than enforcing clear rules for residents' property and stating clear consequences if not adhered to, management relies on a dismissive 'if you don't like it, then leave' type of approach. Essential daily supplies, such as laundry detergent and bed sheets, are handled with immense confusion, mixed messaging, and zero consistency. When residents ask straightforward questions to clarify administrative details, the program director responds with unprompted text screenshots completely unrelated to the topic, and handles phone calls by rudely hanging up on residents in their face. Furthermore, the facility layout lacks cleanliness and structural privacy, as the shared living spaces and bathroom dividers do not even extend to the ceiling, leaving residents completely exposed to smells and noise from others. In my opinion, this is an environment governed by erratic management and extreme power dynamics rather than true respect. If you are looking for an environment that honors your dignity and helps you transition professionally, look elsewhere.
